Brandenburg Tix Hot Item

Washington's period instrument/ authentic pitch premier of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos is generating a lot of excitement. Tickets are moving so fast, they literally set the Bach Consort office on fire. This is a picture of Thursday's fire alarm--note the evacuation of the entire 1220 19th Street NW building! Patrons still wishing to purchase tickets should arrive at the Harman Center at 2pm on Sunday.

About the Author

Executive Director Robert Massey began his professional career as a trumpeter with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra while still a teenager. He moved to Boston and upon graduating from the New England Conservatory, joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra as both a Production Assistant and regular substitute musician. He served as Cultural Affairs Director for the United States Foundation in Paris and returned to the States to create the highly successful IRIS Chamber Orchestra in Germantown, Tennessee, where he also served as the ensemble’s first Orchestra Manager. Since coming to Washington, he has held administrative positions with The Phillips Collection, Washington National Opera, and “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band.
